The supplied instructions explain the 2025 trophy-selection process. They are a historical working document. No final 2024–2025 winner list is inferred here.
Two exact copies were supplied. Both originals are preserved; the instructions appear once below. Text is reproduced in source order; the original Word file retains its outline numbering and highlighting.
Thank you for helping me out with the statistics and trophies. Here is how this works:
Individual trophies shall be awarded sequentially in each of the following categories, without choice, as determined by results of statistics kept by team managers or scorekeepers:
Highest Batting Average.
Best Slugging Percentage.
Most Runs Batted In.
Most Total Bases.
Most Hits.
Most Singles.
Most Doubles.
Most Triples.
Most Home Runs.
Most Long Singles.
Trophies shall be awarded for each of the ten categories above to the winners from the following classifications:
League Leaders - All players are eligible, regardless of age.
Players age 55 and over.
Players up to and including age 54.
Hall of Fame members are not eligible for these trophies. THESE PLAYERS ARE HIGHLIGHTED IN BLUE.
Players up to and including age 15.
A player may win only one individual trophy per season.
There may be ties (Unless it involves an unusually amount of people)!!
The spreadsheet that you have received, the first 2 sheets – 2025 ELIGIBLES and DON’T TOUCH. The DON’T TOUCH sheet is there in case you screw up and have to start over. Simply make a copy of that sheet and start over. There’s also a tab called 2025 Everyone, but you don’t have to worry about that tab!!
Also Buck Buchanan and Ricky Deter did not want trophies.
With that said, here is how to sort the spreadsheet to determine trophy winners:
LEAGUE LEADERS
Sort the entire spreadsheet by “1-AVG” (Largest to Smallest). Highlight the top batting average and shade it yellow. Put an A in the TROPHY column.
Sort the entire spreadsheet by “2-SLG” (Largest to Smallest). Highlight the top slugging percentage and shade it yellow. Put an A in the TROPHY column.
(Keep in mind that once a person wins a trophy and you’ve filled in the TROPHY column, you simply skip them over until you reach the next available person.)
Sort the entire spreadsheet by “3-RBI” (Largest to Smallest). Highlight the top RBI total and shade it yellow. Put an A in the TROPHY column.
Sort the entire spreadsheet by “4-B” (Largest to Smallest). Highlight the top bases total and shade it yellow. Put an A in the TROPHY column.
Sort the entire spreadsheet by “5-H” (Largest to Smallest). Highlight the top hits total and shade it yellow. Put an A in the TROPHY column.
Sort the entire spreadsheet by “6-1B” (Largest to Smallest). Highlight the top singles total and shade it yellow. Put an A in the TROPHY column.
Sort the entire spreadsheet by “7-2B” (Largest to Smallest). Highlight the top doubles total and shade it yellow. Put an A in the TROPHY column.
Sort the entire spreadsheet by “8-3B” (Largest to Smallest). Highlight the top triples total and shade it yellow. Put an A in the TROPHY column.
Sort the entire spreadsheet by “9-HR” (Largest to Smallest). Highlight the top home run total and shade it yellow. Put an A in the TROPHY column.
Sort the entire spreadsheet by “10-LS” (Largest to Smallest). Highlight the top long singles total and shade it yellow. Put an A in the TROPHY column.
55 AND OVER
Sort the entire spreadsheet by “AGE” (Z to A). You’re looking only for the players marked with (55^) in the AGE column. Then sort by the 10 categories listed above. Highlight and mark the same, using B in the TROPHY column. Once you are finished awarding the 55 and Over trophies, you can delete the (55^) players that have not won a trophy.
54 AND UNDER
First thing is to sort by the HOF column. Remove all Hall-Of-Famers who have not won a trophy already (they are ineligible to win this category).
You will now sort all remaining players. Sort by the 10 categories listed above. Highlight and mark the same, using C in the TROPHY column. Once you are finished awarding the 54 and Under trophies, you can delete the players with nothing in the AGE field that have not won a trophy.
15 AND UNDER
Sort the entire spreadsheet by “AGE” (A to Z). You’re looking only for the players marked with (15U) in the AGE column. Then sort by the 10 categories listed above. Highlight and mark the same, using D in the TROPHY column. Once you are finished awarding the 15 and Under trophies, you can delete the remaining players that have not won a trophy.
Finally, save the spreadsheet and email it back to me. I will compare my list against yours. When all of us match up, that will be our final trophy list. Please keep all results private until the banquet. Someone in the league will contact the managers before the banquet.
Thanks, Adam
